Warren County VINE Arrest Coverage
IowaVINE stands for Victim Information and Notification Everyday. It is a statewide service run through the Iowa Attorney General's office. The system is free, anonymous, and open around the clock. You can reach it by phone, internet, email, and the VINELink mobile app. Warren County's own victim-resource page points people to the system. It also lists a local sheriff contact for questions. The county sends people there directly. Because of that, it works for qualifying county-jail custody checks and arrest notifications. Coverage is narrower than the word "arrest" suggests. VINE tracks custody in an Iowa county jail or state prison. Someone cited and released at the scene may never enter a jail record. A person held by a federal agency needs a different locator. Even a police report can document an arrest that VINE no longer displays after release. The system also gives no court disposition and no booking-photo search. The VINELink Iowa interface is the official place to search and register.
The state screen lets anyone follow the live fields without exposing another person's private contact details.
Check a Warren Arrest on VINELink
Search one person at a time and use only details you can verify. The live Iowa form decides which fields it accepts. Name and custody-identifier paths exist. But Warren County publishes no technical feed schema promising that every local booking number works. Spelling, aliases, and a very recent intake can all affect the match.
- Open VINELink and select Iowa if the site begins at the national state selector.
- Choose the person-in-custody search and enter the full name or identifier requested by the live form.
- Review possible matches. Compare the name, identifier, facility, state, and displayed custody details before choosing a record.
- Open the matching result and note the current status, location, and any event or notification option shown.
- If there is no match, verify spelling and contact Warren County Jail rather than treating the result as proof of release.
Shared names are common. Never identify a person from one field alone. The Warren County booking-record overview shows how jail intake records, police reports, court dockets, and DOC profiles differ from a VINE result.
What Warren VINE Results Mean
Read a result as a custody-status record. It shows nothing more. Exact labels shift with the live interface and the source agency's data. Warren County has published no separate public specification for its feed. So treat the table as a guide. It lists fields that may appear, not a promise that every result holds every item.
| Result item | Meaning and limit |
|---|---|
| Name or custody identifier | Helps distinguish a record, but must be checked against other identifying details. |
| Custody status | Reports the state supplied to VINE; it does not state the final outcome of a charge. |
| Facility or system | Shows where the record is associated, which may change after a transfer. |
| Custody event | May reflect release, transfer, escape, death, or another supported change. |
| Registration option | Allows notice for supported future events through available channels. |
"Released" means release from the custody that record tracks. It does not erase an arrest or show that no other agency holds the person. "Transferred" can mean your registration needs a second look. The Iowa Attorney General warns that movement to another jail or DOC may create a new identification number. When that happens, a new registration may be required.
Register for Warren Custody Alerts
Registration begins after a successful person search. IowaVINE offers phone, text, or email choices when supported. Telephone registration uses a PIN so the system can confirm the alert reached you. Keep that PIN private. It belongs to the alert process, not the public custody record.
- Select the registration option on the matched custody record.
- Choose an available phone, text, or email channel and enter the requested contact detail accurately.
- Create a PIN when telephone registration requests one. Use it to acknowledge a call.
- Save the confirmation and record identifier so the registration can be updated later.
- Use “Update Registration” after a phone or email change instead of creating avoidable duplicate alerts.

Warren VINE Alert Retry Conflict
Two official Warren County sources disagree. They differ on how long automated calls keep trying. The county page says calls continue until the PIN is entered or 48 hours pass. The Iowa Attorney General page says 24 hours. Do not smooth that conflict into a false promise. The live system prompt governs the active registration, so follow it.
The county page lists release, transfer, escape, and death notifications. It also offers telephone, text, and email registration. State law adds notification duties for registered victims in specified local-jail events. Alerts are a safeguard. They cannot replace a personal safety plan or a call to emergency services.
The Warren County Attorney victim-resource page supplies the local instructions and sheriff contact.
Once a criminal case is filed, the court search covers case events and outcome. VINE custody alerts play no part in that.
VINE Arrest Check Limits
VINE data can lag behind a new intake, and Warren County publishes no refresh interval. For a fresh booking, call Warren County Jail at 515-690-9220 or email sjail@warrencountyia.org. The county's official site offers no public 24-hour feed as a faster substitute. The Arrested Today page lays out that same-day confirmation order.
Federal custody sits outside IowaVINE. The Federal Bureau of Prisons, U.S. Marshals, and ICE each keep separate systems. The BOP Inmate Locator handles federal prison records. ICE runs its own detainee locator. A VINE no-match therefore cannot rule out federal holding. City police reports form another layer. They may describe an arrest or transport without showing that the person is still in custody.
For a filed case and its outcome, Iowa Courts Online is the later source.
Note: Call 1-888-742-8463 for the trained IowaVINE operator when the online form or an alert registration needs direct support.
Local Help for Warren Alerts
Two Warren County phone lines cover most local questions. The sheriff's records and non-emergency number, 515-690-9210, is the county's published VINE contact. Staff there can walk you through the local side of registration. Questions about the IowaVINE service itself go to the statewide operator instead. For someone in custody right now, call the jail directly at 515-690-9220. Administrative and records business at the sheriff's office runs weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Describe your problem plainly when you call. A search may return several people with similar names. Ask how to pick out the right custody record without asking for protected details. Is the person you expected missing? Give the full name, the agency that likely made the arrest, and the rough date. Silence does not mean release. The person could have been cited rather than booked. They could be held in another county, transferred, or left out of the data VINE received so far.

A release alert can beat you to the phone. Automated notice, though, is never guaranteed to be instant or error-free. Keep your registration details current, hold onto the record identifier, and call 911 if there is an immediate threat. IowaVINE is a notification aid, not an emergency-response system.
